EMPLOYMENT OFFER FOR MUSIC DIRECTOR

The Greater Randolph SDA Church in Schertz, Texas is seeking to hire a Music Director to lead a ministry that includes a praise team, multimedia, and other music programs. The primary purpose of the Music Ministry is to glorify God by proclaiming the Everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ in the context of the Three Angels Messages of Revelation 14. This is done by enhancing and leading the congregation in participation in meaningful weekly praise and worship and to provide ministry outlets for those interested in music and media opportunities of the Church.


The Music Director will work closely with the Pastor and in consultation with other departmental leaders and is expected to accompany praise team rehearsals (as needed) and arrangements during Sabbath morning worship services. The Music Director will also collaborate with the membership to provide music for special programs, holiday events, and evangelistic series designed to exhort the church and reach our community for Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced

Have at least 2 years of demonstrated musical experience in church worship service settings.

  • Dedicated

Be supportive of the mission and vision of Greater Randolph Church.

  • Cooperative

Have/show mutual respect for church doctrines, policies, and procedures.

  • Available

*Be able to conduct music in-person on Saturdays between 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM.

  • Versatile

Provide music across generational spectrums, ages, and backgrounds.

  • Committed

Be a baptized Christian and regularly connected with Church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, lead, and conduct music that fits the theme for weekly worship services and oversee the musical direction of annual Church programs, evangelistic events, and other special worship services.
  • Consult with the Pastor and departmental leaders to understand their requirements for worship services, special Sabbath programs, and departmental events to provide necessary music for desired worship services
  • Work closely with the Media Team regarding audio and visual needs, evaluate regularly for improvement/innovation and make recommendations to the Church board.
  • In the event of absence, vacation, professional development, or other emergencies, arrange in advance for a suitable substitute musician, pianist/organist, etc., to ensure a smooth worship experience without interruptions and inefficiences.
  • Monitor the purchasing, maintenance, and replacement of all music-related equipment, supplies and instruments
  • Keep informed on music methods, trends, materials, needs, and suggest a music budget for approval by the board/finance committee.
  • Encourage musical participation and recruit musical group(s) within the Church
  • Assist in selection of copyright-free music or those covered by the Church’s copyright license
